At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

We are closed today. Our exhibitions are always free.

A Nocturnal Affair

A Nocturnal Affair

Explore PICA’s Radical Ecologies exhibition after dark for a night for sensory delight and epic encounters. Internationally acclaimed bio-artist Stelarc will be performing his new work Re-Wired / Re-Mixed: Event for Dismembered Body live in the gallery until 7pm. This augmented robotic performance sees the artist seeing with the “eyes” of someone in London and hearing with the “ears” of someone in New York, whilst the general public in the gallery and online generate involuntary movement of his right arm. Local electronic musician Mei Saraswati will also be performing on the night, layering her atmospheric samples and soulful vocals into a tribal synth-pop set.
