At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

Our foyer is open today 10am–5pm . Our exhibitions are always free.

Andrew Purvis

Andrew Purvis

Andrew Purvis likes to create elaborate fictions and absurd scenarios that dissolve the distinction between the real and the imagined. During his residency, Andrew will be initiating work on a new, long-term major project, one that will play with ideas of altruism and anonymity. Utilising a variety of techniques, including textiles and performance, the work will involve double-identities, an intense physical transformation and acts of flamboyant good will. Some of it is top secret… but you may have the chance to be initiated.
