Bonnie Lane (USA)

Artist in Residence | 14 November – 24 December

Through an act of performative autobiography, Australian-born, New York based Bonnie Lane exposes private experiences that subvert prescribed gender roles. In a practice that spans video, photography, installation, sculpture, sound, collage, short stories; and virtual, IRL, and secret performance, she reveals the uncertainty of sexual identity in the digital age.

During her residency Bonnie will create 125 Pounds of Sugar, an interdisciplinary project based on conceptual research relating to contemporary views on female sex-workers. The residency will result in a body of work including video, performance and installation as well as developing new skills in cake decorating to create sculptural paintings.
