At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

Our foyer is open today 10am–5pm . Our exhibitions are always free.

While Perth-born artist Gail Hastings is known as a sculptor, her Sculptural Situations are neither the traditional image we have of sculpture nor are they installation, but specific spaces where the process of perceiving, understanding and taking action takes central place. Building upon her well received 2007 Art Gallery of New South Wales exhibition ‘I lost my balance yesterday, my mind is really starting to slip’ (overheard conversation, wharf 2 Circular Quay, Sydney, 06.07.1999), this exhibition will feature three new works especially occasioned by PICA.
