At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

We are closed today. Our exhibitions are always free.

Hatched Open Studio

Hatched Open Studio

Hatched Open Studios is PICA’s most popular series of artist talks that connect you personally with our current studio residents and provide invaluable insight into the artists’ processes and practices.
Join us for an intimate discussion with Hatched resident artists, Elham Eshraghian (WA), Sacha Barker (WA) and Kate Bohunnis (SA). Elham’s work explores the concept of cultural identity and loss, addressing the Iranian diaspora and the emotional impact of displacement. Bohunnis explores the unexpected and the unknown and Barker delves into concepts of personal history and socio-cultural meanings.
This event will be facilitated by PICA’s own curator Eugenio Viola. Come and explore PICA behind closed doors.
