John Wood & Paul Harrison

Notebook | 4 Dec 08 - 1 Feb 09

Apparently simple playful site-gags trigger spiraling, visually surprising conceits. Combining elements of performance and sculpture and exploiting the dynamic, often comic, possibilities that can be generated from a set of precisely articulated events and actions, UK artists John Wood and Paul Harrison’s works are an on-going collection of experiments. And a kind of reference catalogue of diagrams researching human size, scale and movements in relation to the immediate surrounding space and architecture. Linked in style to Burden, Acconci and Abramovic, Wood and Harrison have worked collaboratively since 1993 and have exhibited extensively internationally including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
