NOW RIGHT NOW! A Season of Live Art at PICA

6 November - 19 December

NOW RIGHT NOW! is an eclectic mix of free events that stretch far beyond the walls of PICA and into city spaces exploring new possibilities for live art practice.

This season of live art will include dachshunds as U.N. delegates, a giant ice-block mountain, jam-making laboratories, haiku t-shirts, hoarding obsessions, a tabloid newspaper re-created in one month, and live vocal interventions in a hip music store.

NOW RIGHT NOW! showcases established and emerging artists and groups as they present performances, installations, durational artworks, subtle (and not so subtle) public interventions, screenings and a series of intimate off-site artists’ talks across a range of sites and circumstances.

Artworks developed in this season have been made possible by the P4 (pilot) program: a new joint initiative of Performance Space (Sydney) and PICA. P4 commissions national, international and local practicioners to respond to four simple creative parameters: participate, perform, practice and publish to address the experience, influence and proliferation of live art in Australia and beyond. P4 is committed to furthering the understanding and recognition of Live Art as an important interdisciplinary layer of contemporary arts practice and is supported by the Inter Arts Office of the Australia Council.
