Iranian translator’s boxing workout

Inspired by real events, Pale Face Cold Blood is a piece of physical theatre set in a boxing ring. Zara, an Iranian translator, witnessed something terrible while she was working in a detention centre on Manus Island. She is at war with herself, struggling to deal with her experiences as an interpreter in a country she has only recently started to call home.

This is a bold new work devised and performed by Mina Mokhtarani. It is the highly personal story of her journey to Australia, experiences dating Australian men, failed relationships and how she deals with the emotional turmoil of living alone, far from her home, family, country and everything she has ever known.
