Paradise City

Branch Nebula | 30 April - 10 May

Some of Australia’s finest performing artists battle it out in the hybrid urban landscape of Paradise City. A skater, a B-boy, a BMX-rider, an acrobat, a dancer and a fallen diva eat up the space in a fusion of street-style, dance and physical theatre. In an exhibition of raw energy and spectacular skills, the six characters play out a powerful critique about the rigid social rules in public places and their crusade to reclaim the streets. Devised by Belgian artist Mirabelle Wouters and Australian Director Lee Wilson, Paradise City harnesses the raw energy of a jam with tight choreography and a live score confronting architectural surface with body, board and bike to re-define the city through action.
