At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

We are closed today. Our exhibitions are always free.

Shannon Lyons | Off the Wall

Shannon Lyons | Off the Wall

Lyons’ three month residency at PICA will act as the catalyst for a new direction in her artistic practice. Having a preoccupation with the gallery ‘wall’, the artist recently realised that she was ‘unable’ to conceptualise a work which did not have a direct dependency on bricks and mortar! During the residency Shannon plans to step beyond this vertical comfort zone and devise a series of structured experiments to overcome her ‘fear’ of the floor.
