Show & Tell and Body Not Fit For Purpose

Jonathan Burrows & Matteo Fargion | 28 - 29 April, 7:30pm

Burrows and Fargion are brilliant at turning the eccentricities of their shared creative world into irresistible theatre.” The Guardian

The work of Burrows and Fargion radiates delight even as it makes the audience think. Creating a worldwide following through their body of duets the duo mix the formality of classical music composition with an open approach to performance.

Combining intellectual rigour with unexpected humour Show and Tell explores the influences that underpin their work. Revealing the vital role that mimicry plays in the creative process, the duo compose a presentation of formative images and sounds that examine what is absorbed, transformed, buried, disclosed and appropriated in the making of performance works. Body Not Fit For Purpose is the duo’s first overtly political piece, unravelling the link between meaning and action, raising questions in the midst of our laughter.
