At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

We are closed today. Our exhibitions are always free.

Still Here | Artist Talks

Join six emerging creatives share their thoughts and experiences from the Still Here LGBTQIA+ Lab.

Still Here is a lab which amplifies the visibility of LGBTQIA+ artists in Western Australia, and offered developmental opportunities for six emerging practitioners. Participants were invited to experience and embody the practice of acclaimed transgender artist Cassils during their performance, exhibition and lecture at PICA during the Perth Festival. Through introspection and provocation, these lab participants have since been encouraged to create their own artistic responses, which will be discussed during these artist talks.

Presented as part of the Youth Week WA KickstART Festival.
