At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

Our foyer is open today 10am–5pm . Our exhibitions are always free.

Our eyes and our heads have always been drawn to the upper atmosphere and further into the cosmos. A firmament filled with the sound of Spherics that bounce on the earth’s magnetic field lines, the crack of lightning across the radio waves and the dotted stars of the night sky.

Join us for an afternoon of conversations and sound art performance with David Haines and Joyce Hinterding for Energies at PICA. Gain a greater understanding of the science, the occult and philosophy behind selected works with the artists and MCA Curator, Anna Davis before travelling into the upper atmosphere with the space craft, the SoundShip (descender 1) with a live soundtrack of the Aeolian harps that sounded through space and echoes of the local radio spectrum.
