An exhibition curated by PICA Curator, Charlotte Hickson and guest curator, Ashley Yihsin Chang that marks the 20th anniversary of the Charter of Mutual Friendship between the cities of Perth and Taipei, Unfolding Acts: New Art from Taipei and Perth brings together artists whose practices examine the social, cultural and historical fabric of these two cities, while exploring shared experiences of colonisation, hidden economic systems and enduring natural landscapes.

Untitled (Uura) by Curtis Taylor
Extended by popular demand until Sunday 5 January
Untitled (Uura) presents work made over a two-year period of exploration as Curtis Taylor worked with new materials and processes of making, finding new forms through which to tell stories and record language. This period of practice marks a departure from his first medium of film and presents a series of carved sculptures and site-specific installations and paintings.

Wishes to the Clouds
Create your own lantern and send your wishes flying in our Reading Room as they do every year in the Taipei precinct of Pingxi where thousands write their wishes on paper lanterns and release them into the sky.
The Wall of Protest
Journey through the Unfolding Acts exhibition that addresses issues such as social, cultural and environmental rights and choose an issue to create a protest sign for our Wall of Protest.
歸屬 Gui Shu (Belong) by Steamworks Arts
12 – 16 November
Come on a contemplative journey through the streets, suburbs and open spaces of Taipei and Perth. Devised by an extraordinary interdisciplinary team, each performance of 歸屬 Gui Shu (Belong) fuses dance, music, sound and video projections live on stage.
