At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

Our foyer is open today 10am–5pm . Our exhibitions are always free.

The Communication Series #2

The Communication Series #2

From August to October, PICA will be transformed with two new solo exhibitions.
Our Central Gallery will house A Self Potrait by Khaled Sabsabi. This is his most significant exhibition in Australia to date and is informed by Sufi spirituality, his own experience of moving between communities and geopolitical factors.
Upstairs, the Westend Gallery will showcase Amalia Pica’s first solo exhibition in Australia, please open hurry, with new and recent works exploring the techniques, potential and shortcomings of communication.
On Saturday 8 September you are invited to join us for Art & Identity: Muslim Artists in Western Australia and a live dance-performance in response to Amalia Pica’s work, Catalogue of great ape gestures (in alphabetical order).
