We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Please join us as we celebrate the openings of William Kentridge’s The Refusal of Time and Richard Bell’s Embassy.

A collaboration with Philip Miller, Catherine Meyburgh and Peter Galison, The Refusal of Time epitomises William Kentridge’s intriguing, multi-disciplinary practice. An all-encompassing installation of five videos which combine the magic of theatre, drawing and music with film and animation. The presentation of this Australian exclusive is a major collaboration between the artist, AGWA, PICA and Perth Festival.

Richard Bell’s first solo exhibition in WA, presented by PICA and Perth Festival, will feature a recreation of the Aboriginal Tent Embassy alongside a previously unseen selection of his highly acclaimed paintings and a controversial trilogy of recent videos. For over twenty years Richard Bell has been an artist and active provocateur who has challenged the state of art and politics in Australia.
