Greater Together
Saturday 21 July 9pm - LATE
WE ARE GREATER TOGETHER
WHEN WE PARTY TOGETHER
PICA is throwing a curated party for everyone – the enthusiasts already up close and admirers standing at a distance, long-time donors and those curious about what we do. For one night only Greater Together will transform the PICA building with a collision of art, party culture and shared experiences.
Join us your way – become a donor and feast at the pre-party banquet from 6.30pm with special guests APHIDS or come from 9.00pm for an access-all-areas experience featuring Melbourne’s extreme theatrics duo The Huxleys, local WOMPP DJs and the sought after female hip-hop and nu-soul vocals of Hyclass and Jamilla, karaoke, prizes, raffles and live performances bringing you closer together late into the night.
Greater Together is PICA’s first annual fundraising party. A moment to come together with friends and celebrate the part we all play in making PICA Perth’s home of contemporary art.
If you would like to find out about more ways to support PICA or attend the 6.30pm banquet please contact Jo Malone on philanthropy@pica.org.au.

THE HUXLEYS
Artists: Will and Garrett Huxley
Inspired by the glam of Bowie and Roxy Music and the arresting performance art of Leigh Bowery, Melbourne’s extreme theatrics duo The Huxleys perform for the first time in Perth at Greater Together.
Combining an ever evolving collage of images and performance, the pair imbue their art with gender bending concepts and equally amorphous, ethereal costumes throughout the night.

PARTY SPIRIT ANIMAL
Performer: Alex Lekias
Leave your previous self at the door, our party spirit animal is here to help you embrace the transformative power of shared celebration. Floating through the space, she is ready to adorn you with the magic of the night, leaving sparkles wherever she goes.

PERFORMANCE ART CALISTHENICS
Instructor: Loren Kronemyer
Where Marina Abramovic meets Jane Fonda, we can go on an energetic ride through the history of performance and video art.
Groups of partygoers come together for a physical slip ‘n’ slide through the archives of body art and pop culture, reenacting documentation of iconic physical scores remixed into an energetic team workout. Collaged video, expert instruction, and mass improvisation guide us through physical choreographic moments from Bausch to Baldessari. Led by Pandisciplinary Instructor Loren Kronemyer, Performance Art Calisthenics begins with a guided durational art meditation, followed by a gentle warm up, and finally a high-energy high-art sprint that puts your body through the rigorous ringer of aesthetic calisthenics.
LET’S MAKE LOVE
Jen Jamieson and collaborators
Performers: Jen Jamieson, Mararo Wangai, Jess Nyanda Moyle
Tune into your own biology and take a moment to make love. Right off the back of Dark Mofo, Perth artist Jen Jamieson and collaborators are taking Lets Make Love to the next level by turning PICA into an oxytocin sanctuary where we can create the ‘love hormone’ all night.
Contains adult themes and involves walking.
Originally developed and presented for Proximity Festival.

HOUSE OF HARMONIES
House of BOK x Mummy’s Plastic
Artists: Neil Graham, Elijah Bartholomew, Rose Kingdom- Barron
Gather round, in the name of the one true ceremony that connects us all – karaoke. Guided by love and vocal-chord liberation, prepare for an interconnected, intergenerational family affair of songs performed by you and your kin. Bring thy relatives, friends and neighbours, and sign up on the night for your spiritual awakening in the form of duos, trios, or more! For harmony through harmonies, let us take you there. Lyrics provided. Special guests on the night.
Involves haze and coarse language.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Performers: Alex Lekias and Adam Mitchell
Pledge your allegiance to the power of art at Greater Together by taking part in a ceremonial game that will help us reach our fundraising target for the night.
The Price is Right meets side show alley with the aesthetics of a Jeff Koons ball pit; the Pledge of Allegiance wall is your chance to vote for what you value most about PICA and what you want to see more of in the future.
All players go into raffle draws throughout the night with prizes generously provided by friends of PICA.
