Hatched 2014 Seminar: What Now?

24 May, 2014 | FREE EVENT

An Introduction to Being an Artist After Art School

An opportunity to discuss those recurring issues after leaving art school when the tutors and the techs aren’t around! Questions such as how are group shows curated and what to do when you’re in one; documenting your work; doing time online – websites and blogs; and DIY install, lights & writing – the art of the solo show.

Led by PICA Curator, Leigh Robb, this year’s Hatched Curator, Nadia Johnson and PICA’s Acting Education Program Manager Minaxi May. A selection of Hatched Alumni including inaugural Doctor Harold Schenberg Art Prize winner Andrew Varano and special guests will also discuss their Hatched experience and the path it has set them on in their practice today. This event is open to all artists but is particularly suited to tertiary students and recent graduates.
