Join curator of Energies: Haines & Hinterding, Anna Davis for a illustrated lecture as she discusses her curatorial practice and key exhibitions at the MCA over the past seven years.

Biography
Anna Davis is a Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, having joined the MCA team in 2009. Prior to this she was Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art at the Art Gallery of NSW (2008 – 09) and Curatorial Assistant at dLux media arts, Sydney (2000 – 2006).
Anna has worked with a range of Australian and international artists and collectives including: Rebecca Baumann, Barbara Cleveland, Hayden Fowler, Futurefarmers, Joyce Hinterding & David Haines, Kyungwon Moon & Joonho Jeon, Patricia Piccinini, Sangeeta Sandrasegar, Keg de Souza, Stelarc and Guan Wei.
In 2015 she collaborated with the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Korea to co-curate New Romance: Art and the Posthuman (2015/16), a major two-part exhibition held in Seoul and Sydney with 18 artists whose works reflect on what it means to be human today and what it might mean in the future.
She curated the major survey Jenny Watson: The Fabric of Fantasy at the MCA in 2017 and her other exhibitions include: Louise Hearman (2016), Energies: Haines & Hinterding (2015), Workout: 7 days of experimental performance (2013), Claire Healy and Sean Cordeiro (2012) and Primavera 2011 and 2012.
Anna has a background as an artist and holds a PhD in Media Arts and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) from the University of NSW. She speaks and writes regularly on contemporary art focusing on recent practice from Australia and Asia with a special interest in experimental media and performance.
