Kate Moss & Magni Borgehed

Artist in Residence | 15 November – 24 December

During a residency at PICA Magni will make new paintings, using local found fabrics and pigments such as dirt and plant material, together with textile paint. Kate is interested in the rhythmic potential of words and their relationship to life, living and the surrounding landscape—writing and poetry act as the mediator between life both inside and outside the studio.

Kate will continue her investigation of light and shadow specific to Western Australia, writing and making new compositions, exploring the intensity of the sun and how it effects materials such as paper, canvas, surf wax and oil.

Kate and Magni have worked alongside each other in Vancouver, Canada, at the Sikås Art Centre, Sweden and at Brunswick Sculpture Centre in Melbourne and will be exhibiting new work at Coq au Vin Space in Daylesford, Victoria in October this year.
