At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

We are closed today. Our exhibitions are always free.

Pretty Things

Pretty Things

Decibel is a Western Australian new music ensemble that presents music featuring acoustic and electronic instruments in concert formats.
The second in a series of 3 concerts at PICA, Pretty Things examines instruments not usually thought of as musical. A commission by composer Ross Bolleter will see a ruined piano installed in the main gallery space. Get ready for bowed knives, laughter tracks, AM radios and meat punching!
Decibel Concert 2 includes new works by ensemble members Lindsay Vickery and Cat Hope as well as Chris de Groot, Thomas Meadowcroft, John Cage, and an arrangement of Scott Walker’s Benito’s Dream.
