WA Day Come out and Play Workshop

Constructing/Deconstructing Landscape

As a part of the WA Day celebrations in the Perth Cultural Centre, PICA’s doors will once again be open for the only Monday of the year.

Families and the general public are welcome to drop-in between 10am to 4pm to join Hatched artist Leah Allen-Ankins in a free and fun art workshop.

Taking notes from her work featured in Hatched – Traces and Projections, join Leah as she creates a whole-room installation of folded geometric paper and cardboard forms.

Exploring ideas of placement, construction and deconstruction through simple paper and cardboard creations, participants will be encouraged to consider how their additions to the landscape developing across the walls of the Spark_Lab Education Studio could layer over and under the existing structure, and develop as a whole entity.

This durational, interactive installation will be documented via a time-lapse camera, showing the patterns of the works’ progression around the room.
