At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

Revealed: New and Emerging WA Aboriginal Artists

Revealed: New and Emerging WA Aboriginal Artists

Revealed: New and Emerging WA Aboriginal Artists celebrates the diversity and vibrancy of Aboriginal artistic practice in Western Australia. Established in 2008, this annual program brings Aboriginal art centres and independent artists from across the state to Perth for an exhibition, art market and more. Under the leadership of the Aboriginal Art Centre Hub Western Australia (AACHWA) since 2023, Revealed is proudly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led and governed. As the only program of its kind in WA, Revealed has grown into an unmissable event on the national arts calendar.

In its 17th year, the ambitious state-wide exhibition will be presented for the first time at PICA. Curated by Whadjuk, Ballardong and Wilman Noongar artist and curator Zali Morgan, the exhibition will showcase works by new and emerging Aboriginal artists from remote and regional art centres, as well as independent artists. Participation in the exhibition is open to Aboriginal artists of any medium living in Western Australia, with the final selection of artworks made by a panel of independent industry experts. In 2025, the Revealed Exhibition Selection Panel consists of Sharyn Egan, Carly Lane, Tyrown Waigana and Zali Morgan.

The exhibition features artists working in a variety of media and styles specific to place. Spanning painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpture and weaving, works in the exhibition are available to purchase, with sales directly supporting Aboriginal artists, art centres and their communities.
