At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

Galleries are open today, 10am–5pm. Our exhibitions are always free.

Administration is Just Oulipian Poetry is a significant solo exhibition by George Egerton-Warburton, a Western Australian born artist now based in Los Angeles. Egerton-Warburton’s large architectural intervention explores ways in which our creative energies unknowingly contribute to different economies. Carved pieces of the gallery walls will be suspended from a sprawling mobile, to reveal the city beyond the gallery. This interconnected installation will see the gallery filled with visual and olfactory artworks to collectively form a sensorially charged, contemplative environment.
Egerton-Warburton’s sculptural and written practice is about the application of irrational methodologies to better understand economies of identity and the awkward moral balance in nature. The artist often cites those subjective and shared experiences in which our actions are incongruous with our thoughts and impulses. In his work, traumatic and banal everyday experiences are translated into sympathetic structures.
