At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

Our foyer is open today 10am–5pm . Our exhibitions are always free.

Better Places

Better Places

From the everyday reflex to suspect that the grass might be a little greener over our neighbour’s fence, to the ambitious imaginings of utopias, this exhibition playfully explores our sense of hope and cynicism in the present, and our aspirations and dreams for a better place in the future. Featuring a range of established and emerging artists from across the country and New Zealand, this exhibition navigates the space between the world we live in, and the world we wish for.
