International Women’s Day Curator Talks 'Oui Move in You' and 'In Her Footsteps'

Join us at PICA this International Women’s Day for a special morning tea and curator-led tours of two exhibitions: Oui Move In You by Turner Prize-winning artist Laure Prouvost and In Her Footsteps: A Tribute to Matrilineal Legacy, a group exhibition honouring the influence of women across generations.

Laure Prouvost’s Oui Move In You is a major solo exhibition inspired by radical, experimental and pathfinding figures of the past. Through a poetic and playful lens, Prouvost explores the roles and legacies of grandmothers, both real and symbolic, alongside themes of maternal spaces, intergenerational relationships and transformation.

These ideas flow into In Her Footsteps: A Tribute to Matrilineal Legacy, where seven Australian artists pay homage to the women who have shaped their lives – grandmothers, mothers, artistic matriarchs, leaders, ancestors and forebears.

Delve deeper into these themes with guest curator Annika Kristensen, who will introduce Oui Move In You, followed by PICA Director/CEO Hannah Mathews, who will lead a tour of In Her Footsteps…

Celebrate the legacies of women past and present with us at PICA this International Women’s Day.
