At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

Galleries are open today, 10am–5pm. Our exhibitions are always free.

Noongar Waterlines

Join Noongar couple Peter & Miranda Farmer for an afternoon of storytelling about Noongar Kep Boodja, the Noongar Wetlands or Waterlands where PICA is situated. Peter is a respected painter and sculptor and Miranda an environmental scientist. Together they have a shared love of storytelling and a unique understanding of the power of oral histories from their own fathers and community. Join them in the galleries and outdoors as they share the rich culture and significance of the original Wetlands region of the Burswood Peninsular and celebrate the start of NAIDOC week.
