At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

Galleries are open today, 10am–5pm. Our exhibitions are always free.

arvae and SAE Greenhouse Art-Lab reading sessions center decolonial feminist perspectives on agroecology. While at PICA they will be in processes of archiving/self-publishing; formulating their upcoming cycle of reading sessions; connecting with local archives, bookshops and collectives.

Tara Lasrado is a producer and organiser interested in collective and experimental works. Since co-founding arvae in 2020 she has been cultivating art, science, community collaborations that question practices of transdisciplinary exchange and production(s). From 2022 arvae and the SAE Greenhouse Art-Lab, initiated by agroecologist Kenza Benabderrazik, have been collaborating to host art-science exchanges, including dinner series, artist residencies, reading sessions, exhibitions, symposia and student exchanges. Together they continuously adapt their formats to meet the needs of their growing community of practice, exploring what emerges when time and space are dedicated to transdisciplinary work. Tara is also a member of experi_theater, Blackbox and with the fields.
