Cafe coming soon is a major mid-career survey exhibition of Western Australian artist Shannon Lyons. Presented in PICA’s West End Gallery, the exhibition will function as a radical visual compendium of Lyons’ career to date, featuring a series of large-scale sculptural installations that reflect on 20 years of Lyons’ site-responsive practice. 

New works will be presented alongside a selection of re-staged artworks—each sharing an emphasis on the materiality of built forms and their relationships to notions of social connection, service, hospitality and exchange. Cafe coming soon is accompanied by a comprehensive publication featuring newly commissioned texts, illustrations of Lyons’ significant past projects and documentation of the exhibition at PICA.
