As Artist in Residence at PICA, Reynolds will generate materials towards a new, multi-layered video installation. This work will explore cycles of migration from Ireland to Western Australia and the ways in which this intersects with the history of mining in the region. Incorporating original and found footage, alongside maps and other archival material, the work will employ documentary forms as well as techniques associated with montage and the video essay to propose a rethinking of Irish diasporic identity and Australian multiculturalism.
