An Illustrated Lecture with Professor Chu Teh-I

The esteemed Professor Chu Teh-I, formerly the Director of the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts in Taiwan will talk about contemporary museum strategies and exhibition programs, as well as his experience with the museum’s international engagement initiatives in recent years.
His talk will cover the Kuandu Biennale, the One Piece Room, The Masterpiece Room, the Kuandu Residency Programs and how the museum works with their international counterparts to engage with the most vibrant arts and cultural centres in the Asian region and beyond.

CHU Teh-I, Professor and former Director of the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts
Professor Chu is one of the key figures in contemporary art, art education and arts administration in Taiwan; he has made a substantial contribution to higher education and international exchange. Chu has been involved with many public arts projects and the establishment of the Art Bank in Taiwan. He is also a committee member of the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts and the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, as well as the advisor for the visual arts section of the Ministry of Culture and the National Culture and Arts Foundation. Chu is also a respected artist whose practice focuses on abstract painting. He has exhibited internationally both in solo and joint exhibitions. His works are in private and public collections at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Art, Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Kaohsiung Fine Arts Museum in Taiwan, White Rabbit Gallery in Australia, Seoul Museum of Art, and the Gwangju Museum of Art in Korea. Chu had been invited as a visiting scholar to the Australian National University, L’Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts-Decoratifs de Paris, École Nationale Superieure d’Art de Bourges in France, Sungshin Women’s University, Chonnam National University, Seoul National University in Korea, Tokyo University of the Arts, Kyoto University of Art & Design in Japan and the University of the Arts, London.
