At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

We are closed today. Our exhibitions are always free.

David Haines & Joyce Hinterding

Sydney-based artists, David Haines and Joyce Hinterding, are widely known for their dramatic audiovisual installations. Working independently, and often in collaboration, Haines & Hinterding bring sound and video together to explore the natural world and its seemingly invisible energies. Hinterding creates recordings of magnetic fields and other natural phenomena that combine with Haines’ video installations to create a complex universe of moving landscapes, mysterious interfaces and ghostly transmissions.
