From Afar On A Hill

Queuing with documents in hand, are you confident you will walk through the gates, or has that deep seated fear triggered your nerves, gnawed at your confidence, flustered you – will you be welcomed and allowed in?
Part lecture demonstration and part dance theatre, From Afar on a Hill looks at immigration, citizenship and the possibility of seeking asylum here, with us. A multi-faceted performance piece, From Afar on a Hill presents the audience with a dilemma, asking them to consider their own situation within the ongoing international debate.
Devised and directed by outstanding Perth based choreographer Bianca Martin, From Afar on a Hill features some of Western Australia’s most exciting performance practitioners including performer Rhiannon Newton, composer Chris Cobilis (The Tigers), with expert advice from Steve Bull (pvi collective), Professor Farida Fozdar (UWA), and Steve Purcell (York St John University, UK).
