At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

Our foyer is open today 10am–5pm . Our exhibitions are always free.

Gera Woltjer

Gera Woltjer

Originally from the Netherlands, Gera Woltjer has recently moved from Geraldton to Perth. Her work could be described as an expanded drawing practice. It is process based and also acutely physical, often involving lengths of rice paper and ink in a performative manner. Her PICA studio will become the site for more in-depth studies into capturing movement in liquids through photography and video. Through these studies of viscous reflections, Gera is hoping to create a unique sensory environment through overlaying moving and static images that stimulate, surprise and confuse our everyday experience of materiality and space.
