At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

We are open 10am–5pm. Our exhibitions are always free.

Glow

Glow

Chunky Move’s award-winning fusion of digital technology and human movement, Glow , is presented as part of the 2007 AWESOME Festival. Glow is an interactive solo performance in which the motion of the human body is used to trigger and control music, lighting and animation. Beneath the glow of a sophisticated video tracking system, a lone organic being mutates in and out of human form into unfamiliar, sensual and grotesque creature states. A digital landscape is generated in real time in response to the dancer’s movement, with the body’s gestures extended by and in turn manipulating the surrounding video world. Glow is a collaboration between Melbourne’s Chunky Move Artistic Director Gideon Obarzanek and German interactive software creator Frieder Weiss.
