Open Studio Night: David Atwood, Kimberley Pace, Lia McKnight

Open Studio Night is PICA’s most popular series of artist talks that connect you with our current studio residents and provide an invaluable insight into the artists’ processes and practice. For this period, PICA can boast talks from three exceptional artists currently operating out of Perth’s artistic community. Fresh from his recent solo show at Moana Project Space, David Atwood shares his investigations into the potential of consecration to critique notions of skill and labour within contemporary art practice. Up next, Kimberley Pace creates discussion surrounding the in-between conditions of the corporeal body explored though the multidisciplinary approach involving garment, object, performance and sound. Following these two, Lia McKnight will delve into the intriguing space between waking and dreaming, exploring domestic spaces and the subconscious.
Join us as we are taken inside the artist studios with Francis Russell, a sessional academic at Curtin University where he teaches visual culture and cultural studies.
