Woyzeck

Woyzeck

Fires are appearing in the skies. And the Moon is turning blood red. Enter the constantly churning mind of Woyzeck, a tragic anti-hero who sits on the edge of madness and enlightenment. Woyzeck is husband, father, and soldier. A working-class simpleton who is encouraged to keep his thoughts to himself and sell his body for science. As he becomes overwhelmed and consumed by his own paranoid fantasies, Woyzeck is betrayed, even by the one he loves. Woyzeck is a fast-paced journey through a bizarre world of hallucinogenic and grotesque images and characters. From Black Swan’s emerging artists program The HotBed, this is avant-garde theatre at its most breathtaking.
