At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

We are closed today. Our exhibitions are always free.

Spring Exhibitions Opening Night

Spring Exhibitions Opening Night
Join us as we both welcome and celebrate two new exhibitions, Unfolding Acts – marking the 20th anniversary of the Charter of Mutual Friendship between the cities of Perth and Taipei, and Untitled (Uura) – a new solo exhibition from Perth based Martu artist Curtis Taylor.
On this exciting night, we welcome the public to join us for a Welcome to Country and opening remarks by City of Perth Chair Commissioner Andrew Hammond and Director of the Taipei Fine Arts Museum Ping Lin, followed by a live performance from Taiwanese artist Dondon Houwn and his artistic team.
Unfolding Acts: New Art from Taipei and Perth celebrates a cross-cultural relationship and provides an opportunity to examine the social, cultural, and historical fabric of two cities and the personal and collective experiences of their residents.
Untitled (Uura) explores the artist’s self and how language, knowledge and persistent memories dwell within and re-surface across generations.
