People’s Choice Awards Terms and Conditions

To enter the Hatched 2026 People’s Choice Award entrants must:

  • Complete an entry form hosted on PICA’s website (also accessible by a QR code), using iPads provided at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA) or via a personal device.
  • Only one valid entry per entrant will be accepted into the draw.
  • The People’s Choice Award winner will be the artist who receives the most votes, as voted by members of the public.

Competition Dates

The competition commences Friday 31 July 2026 at 7pm (AWST) at the PICA After Hours: Hatched Opening Night and closes on Sunday 20 September at 5pm (AWST). The votes will be tallied and announced the week of Monday 21 September. The artist who receives the most votes will be notified and an announcement will be made on PICA’s website and social media channels.

Award Details

The artist who receives the highest number of votes will win the $5,000 made possible by the funds bequeathed to The University of Western Australia by Dr Harold Schenberg.

Responsibilities

PICA accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible, corrupted or misdirected entries, claims or correspondence whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction, transmission interruption, communications failure or otherwise. PICA has no control over communications networks or services, the Internet, or computer or telephone networks or lines and accepts no responsibility for any problems associated with them, whether due to traffic congestion, technical malfunction or otherwise. Entries via the voting system are deemed to be received at the time of receipt into the database not at the time of transmission by the entrant.

All entries submitted to PICA in connection with this competition, become the property of PICA.
