At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

We are open 10am–5pm. Our exhibitions are always free.

Beyond the Body: An Illustrated Lecture with Kira O'Reilly

Beyond the Body: An Illustrated Lecture with Kira O'Reilly
Kira O’Reilly will be visiting Perth as a speaker at the Quite Frankly symposium and as an exhibiting artist in HyperPrometheus, a new exhibition presented by PICA and SymbioticA opening on 19 October.
Kira O’Reilly is an artist currently based in Helsinki where she leads a pilot masters programme in in Ecology and Contemporary Performance at the Theatre Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki. Her practice, both willfully interdisciplinary and entirely undisciplined, stems from a visual art background; it employs performance, drawing, makings, biotechnical practices and writing with which to consider speculative reconfigurations around The Body.

This is a very special opportunity to hear directly from Kira O’Reilly in an intimate lecture.
