Bridgette Davies

Quick Response Residency

Quick Response Residency

During her Quick Response Residency at PICA, Bridgette Davies’ will spend time developing a solo dance work based around ideas of obsession, repetition and control. 

Developing new technical approaches to her practice, Davies will use the residency to trial and error her practice through dance and external technical aspects, playing with vocal loops and live projection. Davies’ work explores her own personal journey with obsessive-compulsive disorder.

About the artist

Bridgette Davies is a contemporary artist currently based in Boorloo. Her practice is based in Improvisation with an emphasis on understanding the way story and memory is presented through movement, particularly through her cultural heritage. Bridgette performed in the 2025 Perth Fringe Festival with the show, The Game and created her own work titled, InSafety, that she was grateful to present as a part of the Blue Room Theatre’s 2025 600 Seconds season. Davies also received a First Nations bursary to take part in STRUT Dance’s 2025 Perth Moves where she connected with artists and groups, Ta’alili, Amrita Hepi, All the Queens Men, Alice Cummins and Gary Lang. She recently performed in Concrete Echoes directed by Ta’alili, that was presented in collaboration with STRUT Dance and Perth Festival. During this creative process she worked closely with practitioners in street dance inspiring her intrigue in a multidisciplinary contemporary practice. Bridgette graduated WAAPA with a Bachelor of Arts Dance in 2024 which connected her with artists from across the globe.
