At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

We are open 10am–5pm. Our exhibitions are always free.

Cedric Bomford

During his residency Cedric Bomford has constructed an installation referencing a range of local and international historic sites and architectural features. His project is constructed from salvaged and used materials sourced locally. This installation builds on an ongoing body of work by Bomford that attempts to, as cultural theoretician Sarat Maharaj says: ‘think through the visual’. Bomford’s work welcomes decoding and speculation – it hints at myriad possible narratives and is ‘activated’ by the presence and interpretive action of visitors.
