At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

We are closed today. Our exhibitions are always free.

Economy

At each moment a battle is being planned, contested or decided – most remain anonymous while others gain enormous significance due to their impact on global relations. Economy is an installation-based exhibition that brings together nine West Australian artists to explore the theme of efficiency and its relevance in how we deal with conflict. Using their adept skills of analysis and enquiry, the participating artists will use action, strategy and movement to present responses that are incisive, well considered and tactically efficient. Through dance, performance and object-based installation, they suggest that a moderate approach to any given situation may often produce the most effective outcomes.
