During her residency, Lauren Jane Salt will develop new works that investigate the idea of the body as a vessel of memory, with gesture a form of language that is passed between people, across time and held in material. Clay will be central to this inquiry, approached as both collaborator and recorder. Through sculptural experiments, participatory workshops and research, Salt will consider how embodied actions carry meaning, mark presence and connect people to place and cultural memory.
