LINGUISTIC HARDCORE: Adventures in Art Writing

LINGUISTIC HARDCORE: Adventures in Art Writing
Join the inaugural Perth Festival Visual Arts Writing Group for a discussion around what ‘art writing’ is and what it can offer to various audiences.
Titled as an homage to the inaugural issue Maria Fusco’s journal of experimental artists’ writing, The Happy Hypocrite, this panel discussion explores the relationship between language and the art experience.
The Visual Art Writing Group will talk through their different experiences across the Festival’s Visual Arts program, and opinions and learnings about the act and place of writing.
The session will be facilitated by convenor Kelly Fliedner, and questions will be welcomed from the audience.
This event is co-presented with Perth Festival.

ABOUT THE VISUAL ARTS WRITING GROUP
The Visual Arts Writing Group is working closely with Festival artists, staff, convener Kelly Fliedner, and each other to experiment with art writing, create conversation, and engage critically with the world of the Festival. As a group they are developing new critical and creative responses to visual art within the Festival, as well as its themes and currents.
