At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

Galleries are open today, 10am–5pm. Our exhibitions are always free.

Lulani Mitchell-Oehlers

Quick Response Artist-in-Residence

Quick Response Artist-in-Residence

Lulani Mitchell-Oehlers will develop their project Between Us, and You, a series of video works exploring the relationship between her and her twin brother. Through storytelling that shifts between truth and fiction, she questions how their lived experience differs from conventional understandings of the nature of twin relationships. This project is referencing a twin experiment they took part in for a decade.

About the artist

Lulani Mitchell-Oehlers is a multidisciplinary artist based in Perth (Boorloo). They use video, painting and installation to express their ideas about human nature and personal relationships. They are interested in the spiritual realms and extending their work beyond the physical. Part sceptic and part guru, they are intrigued by the innate human need to know everything.
