At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

Galleries are open today, 10am–5pm. Our exhibitions are always free.

RECKLESS ACTS | Desert Body Creep

RECKLESS ACTS | Desert Body Creep

Dances with worms. Unearthing the future.
Turning fear and horror into an imaginary force, Desert Body Creep wriggles and writhes through a hallucinatory dreamscape of worms, synth pop, live sampling, zombies and shifting bodily forms. This performance delves deeper and darker into a world of plot holes, black holes and worm holes, taking you on a wild ride with the ultimate light touch.
Performed by a dancer and a giant gummi worm, Desert Body Creep explores transformation through decay, inviting a new idea of reality based on sweet and tender destruction.
