At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

School Holidays Photography Workshops

Creative kids with an eye for photography and an insatiable love of technology are invited to PICA this school holidays for a very special workshop! The artists from Camera Story are running hands-on digital photography workshops inspired by PICA’s current exhibition Derek Kreckler: Accident & Process. Participants will learn to work with light, perspective and composition as they create a series of images exploring the physical, cultural and social surrounds of Perth city.

At the conclusion of the workshop participants will receive their favourite images beautifully printed to take home. If you have your own DLSR camera please bring it along!

About Camera Story
Camera Story was born from the desire to connect kids and communities through facilitating creative, compassionate and collaborative learning. Camera Story workshops use specially crafted educational tools that are designed for all children and have been thoroughly researched and built from our experience working as photographers in Australia and throughout the world. Their workshops are held in a fun and safe environment and encourage kids not only to learn the manual functions of their cameras, but to look outside themselves into the world around them and create a beautiful story.
