During her residency at PICA, Tammy Yu-Ting Hsieh will deepen her curatorial research into the complex intersections of geopolitics, national memory, Indigenous knowledge systems and ecological crisis. Her focus will be on how colonial expansion and extractive economies have shaped both Western Australia and Taiwan. 

Through studio visits, field research and on-site engagement, Hsieh will develop a curatorial project that explores how contemporary artists in Western Australia respond to the legacies of colonisation, resource extraction and contested relationships to land.
