Mary Last was in a hurry. Mary Last was rushing to get home to the country when she had an accident. Now she’s in an unfamiliar world of red-dry ochre earth, surrounded by long dead members of her family, trying to remember. Who was she trying to get to and why was it so important? The Quiet Country (a dream play) is a work that takes us into unfamiliar dry country, a land of forgetting and remembering. The production takes up residence at PICA for a creative development period during December. Join the creative team for a public reading at the conclusion of the residency.
